Can you own a machine gun or silencer? Are they legal? OF COURSE! Machine guns/Silencers are serial numbered and registered with ATF. Maryland residents can, after following the proper procedure, own and use these firearms and silencers as they would any other firearm. Qualifications are pretty basic.

You must:

This procedure is called a Transfer. You are require by law to pay a $200 transfer tax per machine gun or silencer. This is a one time tax. You are NOT required to pay $200 annually. First, after purchasing the item, Select-Fire fills out the necessary forms know as a Form 4. We then give you a packet with the Form 4. We then give you a packet with the Form 4 and Finger Print Cards. You then will make a trip to the State Police barracks in Jessup, MD. There they will walk you through the procedure. After MSP returns it to you, you need to bring it back to us. We then submit the application, finger print cards, passport photos, (Color photos can be obtained from Select-Fire for $15.) and a check from you for the $200 transfer tax. This process takes 30-90 days.

Why should you buy a Class III firearm from Select-Fire? One reason is that we have been buying and selling these guns for almost 20 years. Another reason is that if you were looking for a gun that we didn't have in stock, we will find it and put $100 over our cost! Let's see any other dealer in Maryland match that! Third, all of your purchases are guaranteed for 2 years! We won't sell to you, and then forget you. One last incentive to buying at Select-Fire, remember, we are also a Submachine gun range. If you purchase a sub-gun or suppressor, you can shoot it at the range while your paperwork is away with the Feds. No one in Maryland can offer that kind of deal!
